Restaurant Expansion in South Jamaica

Jamaica's return to its position as a thriving tourism hub continues, in the wake of the devastation wrought by Hurricane Melissa last year. Many businesses have rebuilt, bigger and better than before and the south coast, which bore the brunt of the storm, is leading the way.
Lashings Hotel in Treasure Beach is one of several tourism entities in the area to announce expansion plans. As part of this Grego's, a popular seafood bar and grill in Junction, is opening a second restaurant at its beach club in Old Wharf.
Specialising in fresh seafood, Grego’s will bring its much loved flavours, alongside its well known pizza menu, to a new coastal location.
Owners Murphy and Halcyol (Lisa) Greg have run Grego’s in Junction since 2018. They say the new restaurant will continue with their commitment to be proudly 100% Jamaican owned and staffed, celebrating local talent, culture and cuisine.
Murphy said: “We are excited to be creating this new beachside dining experience. It will combine our exceptional local seafood with the relaxed atmosphere and warmth that Grego’s is known for. This is perfect timing for us, opening a second restaurant is a dream come true - especially somewhere as beautiful as Treasure Beach.”
Lashings owner David Folb said: “We have been looking for some time to open a specialised seafood restaurant at the beach club, as part of our aim to constantly improve the tourism offer in Treasure Beach, so we are absolutely delighted to have found Lisa and Murphy.
“Grego’s is the perfect fit for the Lashings vibe. Although the restaurant will be a separate business from our two hotels on the beach and up in the hills, it will very much be part of the Lashings overall experience.
“I particularly love how their existing restaurant engages with the local community and has really loyal clientele. This is important to us at Lashings and continues our own commitment to promoting Treasure Beach as a community tourism destination.”
